As I’m almost done with the entire first module of John Thornhill’s Partnership to Success program, I’m enjoying looking back at the start of the program. I’m able to see how I’ve built on what I learned in the earliest days to make my blog more The functional. The appearance has changed and it’s becoming a website that I’m proud of.

Day 3 – Essential Blogging Techniques

After having so much to do in the first couple of days, Day 3 is somewhat of a break. It’s a presentation with John and his partner Randy Smith who give an hour-long master class on blogging techniques. I’m not a novice blogger. I’ve been running a very successful blog for years for my medical practice. I did learn some new strategies in this session.

After you finish watching the presentation, you’re done for the day. I usually watch presentations like this at 1.5x speed, but the British accents stop me from being able to do this. I had to watch it real time/real speed. Slowed me down, but it was good information so I didn’t mind.

This session is essential for heading to Day 4.

Day 4 – Writing a Detailed Blog Post

The Day 3 training was perfect and easily applied to the task on Day 4. There was a short video about how to write a proper blog post. The important thing is to not overthink this task. So often, people can stare at a blank computer screen and are not sure of what to write.

Here’s the thing…you’re not writing a book. You’re writing a blog post that you can always go back and change. And if you end up hating it, you can even delete it. Go in with that mindset. It’ll remove the gravity from what you are going to write. It essentially gives you permission to write what you want to write.

The important thing is to add to your blog often. My goal is to update 2-3 time a week.

And it doesn’t have to be a chore. If you have a block of time, then write 2 or 3 posts and schedule them to post later. That’s what I’m doing now. I wrote a post yesterday. I have time to write one today, but I’m not going to have it post for a couple of days.

I’ll be back with more from my Partnership to Success Journey.

Dedicated to your success,

Andrew Schneider
